Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu (1360m):

Upon arrival in Katmandu, you will be met by our Himalayan Hikers representative and transferred you to the hotel. The drive from the airport to the hotel is around 20 minutes. After your check in the group leader will set a time for your trek briefing to discuss in regards to the trek. The evening is free but your trek leader will organize a welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant.

 


Day 2: City Tour (1360m):

Today, you will visit BodhnathStupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world and Pashupatinath, the main temple for the hindus. Here you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing, and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. The rest of your afternoon is free. In the late afternoon you will be issued with your trek pack. Departure information for the next morning will also be given.


Day 3: Fly to Pokhara & trek to Syauli (1160m):

You will have an early departure from the hotel today for your flight to Pokhara. The flight time is about 30 minutes with spectacular views of the main Himalayan chain to the north.Upon arrival in Pokhara you will be transferred by road (private bus) to the starting point of the trek at Nayapul. We stop for a while to get the crew organise your load. You leave Nayapul following the ModiKhola River to Birethanti where you will have your trekking permits checked. From here you get great views of the ‘fish tail’ Machapuchhare (6993m)You will continue to hike on the dirt road following the ModiKhola passing through terraced fields and settlements inhabited by the Chettris, Brahmins and Gurungs.Soon you will reach the small hamlet of Shyauli Bazaar where you will stop for the day.


Day 4: Trek to Gandruk (1950m):

Today you will start the climb to Ghandruk. The trail gradually climbs out of Shyauli, and you will cross a steel suspension bridge. From here the trail climbs more steeply up stone steps through settlements of Klieu and Kimche .You stop in for a rest and can enjoy a hot drink or maybe a soft drink.From the small village of Chane the trail traverses and then climbs up to the village of Ghandruk, where you will stop for lunch and spend the night. Ghandruk is one of the biggest Gurung villages in the area.Ghandruk is well known for the number of its men folk who have served and is still serving in the British Gurkharegiments.You will have spectacular views of Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machapuchhare (6993m), and Hiunchuli (6434m).


Day 5: Trek to Ghandrukkot (2250m):

Todays walk of 2hours will be easier with not many steep ascents to encounter.Once you leave Ghandrukvillage,you enter into the oak and rhododendron forest keeping you cool.The forest comes alive with the sounds of the birds and streams.You now gradually make an ascent to KimrongDanda where we stop in for a break /morning tea.We now climb a bit and start walking on the ridge to get to camp for the day.The views form here is just magnificient and breathtaking overlooking Ghandruk and the valley below.The afternoon is free to relax.

 


Day 6: Trek to Landruk or Tolka:

We walk through terraced fields and pass through a school to reach a small linear settlement of Kyumi. We then cross a steel suspension bridge after which the trail climb up gradually through terraced fields. Looking north you enjoy great view of the ModiKhola Valley. The trail continues to climb up through the fields to reach our lodge in this small Gurung village of Landruk where we stop for lunch. We take the trail just above the small primary school of Landruk and the trail traverses though open area and patches of beautiful woods. The trail undulates and traverses for some time and we climb for a section to reach a small settlement of Tolka. Views of Annapurna south and Hiunchuli dominate the skyline.

 


Day 7: Trek to Australian Camp:

From here the trail steadily climb through the forest to reach a small teashop after which the trail ascends for another 40 minutes or so to reach PitamDeurali where we stop for lunch. After lunch the trail traverses on the ridge through alpine and rhododendron forests with great view of the mountains. The trail now descends till we reach the settlement of Australia camp.This is one of the great view points. One can see the whole Annapurna ranges from here on a clear day.Meals included: B, L, D


Day 8: Trek to Kande/Sarangkot view point and drive to Pokhara:

After breakfast the trail descends out of our camp through terraced fields and forest for an hour and half to reach the road at the small settlement of Kande. From Kande we farewell our porters then drive for about an hour to reach our hotel in Pokhara, which is located close to the lakeside. After a welcome shower, we have the rest of the day free to relax or do some exploring. It is well certainly worthwhile hiring a boat for a row out on the lake (Phewa Tal), which is the second largest in Nepal. Pokhara has an interesting old area as well as an elaborate Hindu temple and a Buddhist Monastery. The lakeside area has good shopping opportunities and internet cafes. In the evening there is an option to dine out at one of the many lakeside restaurants with your leader. Meals included: B


Day 09: Pokhara:

Free day to relax, shopping and exploring around the Lake. Your trek leader will be on hand to assist you with sightseeing.Overnight at hotel. Meals included: B


Day10: Pokhara – Tansen/Palpa:

Early morning drive to Tansen/Palpa. It takes approximately 6 hours drive to reach Tansen/Palpa the Oldest Historical King Palace, visit the great view point and the local town of Palpa. Overnight at hotel.Meals included: B


Day11: Tansen/Palpa - Lumbini:

Today early drive to Lumbini, It takes approximately 4 hours drive to reach at Bhuddha Birth Place Lumbini where we staying beautiful Garden and birds watching hotel after settling in to the hoterl you will visit the birth place of Lord Buddha, explore around Mayadevi temple and monasteries. Lumbini the birth place of Lord Buddha lies in the western Tarai of Nepal. Lord Buddha was born in 623 BC. BaisakhPurnima (full Moon Day).This day is an auspicious day for the Buddhists. Overnight at hotel. Meals included: B


Day 12:   Lumbini – Chitwan:

After breakfast we drive to Chitwan, it takes approximately 5 hours to reach our lodge in chitwan.Upon reaching Chitwan your lodge’s resident naturalist will meet to discuss your plans and what activities you would like to do throughout your stay. As part of your package the following activities are normally included: elephant safari, jungle drive in a jeep, bird watching, nature walk, canoeing, ox cart ride, village tours and bathing with an elephant. In the evenings most lodges will organise a cultural show with traditional local Tharu dances and slide shows about Chitwan National Park. Meals included: B, L, D


Day 13: Chitwan Exploration Day-:

Full day in Chitwan National Park for exciting activities like: jungle walk, elephant riding, village visit, canoeing, visit to elephant breeding center, bird-watching etc. Our resident naturalist will guide you through all the activities giving us more insights about the wildlife, flora and fauna in the national park. View of wild and aquatic life like rhinoceros, deer, bear, crocodile, and different birds can make our day there. Tharus are aboriginal people of the area who have their own language, culture and tradition. Meals included: B, L, D


Day 14: Chitwan – Nagarkot:

An optional early bird watching tour is available. After breakfast we drive to Bhaktapur than best view Mountain views point Nagarkot for fresh Air and great panoramic Views. Meals included: B

 


Day 15:  Bhaktapur Sightseeing:

Today in Bhaktapurwhich one of the capital of Nepal or is popularly known as the Old city.you will visit Durbar square,Taleju Temple, Nyatapole Temple, Royal Bath centre. The temple of Changunarayan is splendidly decorated with sculptures and carvings and is said to be the oldest pagoda style temple in the valley. The temple, built around the 3rd century, is adorned by some of the best samples of stone, wood and metal craft in the valley.  We make our way back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Day 16 Kathmandu (1360m):

The rest of the day is free to do souvenir shopping or further sightseeing. Located in the south of the city, Patan is also worth a visit with its own Durbar Square full of historic structures and statues of past kings. You will have the chance to go out on the town and enjoy a final dinner (optional) with your travelling companions and newfound friends to celebrate your final night in Kathmandu.Overnight at hotel Shangri-la. Meals included: B

 


Day17: Final Departure:

Your trip will come to an end today after breakfast. Your leader will be on hand to advise and assist with your onward travel arrangements. A departure transfer to the airport is included.
